About Chris Davis
"A good life is a life lived in service to others."
Chris Davis grew up in the fields of West Tennessee — the kind of place where the work never stops and the land teaches you everything worth knowing. Watching his grandfather farm the family land, he learned an ethic that has never left him: if there is work that needs doing, we get it done.
That foundation carried him from Crockett County to Middle Tennessee State University, and then to the University of Memphis School of Law.
Chris's affinity for Middle Tennessee started early. As a student at MTSU — where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and interned at the Tennessee State Capitol — he served as West Tennessee Field Representative for Phil Bredesen's successful campaign for Governor of Tennessee. Those years in Murfreesboro and Nashville deepened a connection to Middle Tennessee that never faded. After passing the Tennessee Bar in 2007, Chris began his legal career at The Perry Firm in Brentwood, representing clients in Williamson County courts in insurance defense, family law, estate planning, and business matters. He put down roots there too, purchasing a home in Brentwood that he owns to this day. What he learned from Jon and Laura Perry — about the law, about client service, and about building something worth being proud of — became the blueprint he carried home. For Chris, Middle Tennessee isn't just a service area — it's a community he's invested in, in every sense of the word.
From Brentwood, his path led to Washington, D.C., where he spent five years as a Legislative Assistant for a Member of Congress — advising on tax policy, agriculture, financial services, and more. Those years on Capitol Hill gave Chris a command of federal tax law, regulatory policy, and financial legislation that no courtroom alone could have provided — a breadth of knowledge he brings to every client engagement today. It was there he also met his wife Heather. And then, like the best of West Tennessee always does, he came home.
In 2016 Chris founded The Davis Firm, PLLC in Alamo, Tennessee. He also serves his community as City Attorney for the Town of Alamo. Chris and Heather are raising their two daughters in Jackson. His practice is grounded in a conviction he's carried since boyhood: not for ourselves alone are we born. Coming home to raise a family in West Tennessee brought his calling into sharp focus — a passion for legacy, and for the people who spend a lifetime building one. It is estate planning where that passion runs deepest — and nowhere is it more essential than here, where families have farmed the same land for generations. Through years of diligent practice across estates of every size and complexity, Chris has become the attorney West Tennessee families trust to protect those farms, preserve that legacy, and ensure it passes — intact — to the next generation. That same command of tax law, business structure, and long-term strategy makes him equally trusted by the region's business owners, entrepreneurs, and executives who need a counselor who thinks as far ahead as they do.
